The successful candidate will support the management of the Abu Dhabi International Virtual Research Institute for Food Security in the Drylands. This institute features a comprehensive and highly interdisciplinary R&D program and provides an international collaboration platform for researchers and stakeholders of the public and private food and agricultural sector. The successful candidate will organize regular academic and educational events taking place under the umbrella of the Virtual Research Institute, such as colloquia, conferences, and a summer school. In collaboration with the University Outreach Department, she/he will also be in charge of establishing and updating the project website, social media accounts, and printed materials (posters, brochures). As an advocate of the Virtual Research Institute, the successful candidate is expected to actively reach out to stakeholders of the private and public food and agricultural sector and support the representation of the institute on public, academic and industry events, such as national or international exhibitions or conferences. The contract is for one year, with the possibility of extension on an annual basis.

University degree (B. Sc. or M. Sc.) in the agricultural sciences, food, nutritional sciences, or a related discipline

Candidates should have an approachable nature and confidence in communication with national and international researchers, students and industry stakeholders. Expected are excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Arabic, written and spoken. Advanced computer skills of MS Office and at least basic knowledge in webhosting, webpage design, image processing and working with social media accounts. Of advantage is work experience in the food and agricultural sector of the UAE, as well as familiarity with the regional customs and culture.
