Postdoctoral Fellow
The Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (KCGEB, Al Ain, UAE) and Department of Biology at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) are seeking applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow. The successful candidate will be offered a two-year position further extendable depending on funding availability and performance. We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our interdisciplinary research team focused on soil-plant-microbial interactions analysis using multi-omics approaches. The successful candidate will work primarily on analyzing soil, plant, and microbial samples using metabarcoding and metagenome approaches.
• PhD in Soil Science, Microbiology, Ecology, or a related field • Experience in using multi-omics approaches, particularly metabarcoding and metagenome analysis • Knowledge of bioinformatics tools and statistical analysis software R for processing and analyzing sequencing data • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. • Experience with plant-microbial interactions analysis and experimental design • Experience in microbial ecology and/or soil microbial communities’ analysis • Publications in peer-reviewed journals

Responsibilities • Conduct research in the area of soil-plant-microbial interactions using multi-omics approaches. • Design and conduct experiments to study the effects of plant-microbial interactions on plant growth and health. • Perform DNA and RNA extraction, library preparation, and sequencing using metabarcoding and metagenome approaches. • Analyze sequencing data using bioinformatics tools and statistical analysis software. • Interpret and present research findings in publications and presentations. • Collaborate with team members and external partners to advance the research project.
