Research Assistant (Molecular Entomology)
The KCGEB is recruiting a research assistant Research Assistant to assist the Entomology program in the establishment and conduct experiments and assist with data collection. The project involves handling of insects, Red palm weevil colony maintenance, molecular biology techniques and genomics. Preference will be given to candidate with experience in molecular biology, cell culture, handling of animals and basic bioinformatics.
Bachelor’s degree or above in molecular biology or a related field
Master’s degree with experience in molecular biology techniques Working knowledge of moderately complex equipment, materials, and processes related to research operations; Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
Enthusiastic with a strong desire to learn Excellent hands on skills – manipulation of all stages of the red palm weevil and other insects Flexibility to work in accordance with the needs of experiments being performed.
