Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Research Assistant to join our Food Science team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting research across various projects in the field of food science, with a focus on meat, dairy, and cereal. The candidate's proficiency in HPLC systems, combined with their expertise in food chemistry and microbiology, will contribute significantly to our research endeavors. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the research team on diverse food science projects, including those related to meat, dairy, and cereal. Utilize and maintain HPLC systems for accurate analysis and quantification of food components. Demonstrate advanced skills in food chemistry and microbiology to support project goals. Display a strong aptitude for learning, adapting to new techniques, and staying updated with advancements in the field. Efficiently manage multiple tasks, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising the quality of work. Take responsibility for overseeing laboratory requirements and consumables, ensuring the smooth operation of experiments. Provide guidance and supervision to senior and master's students involved in research projects. Demonstrate excellent academic writing skills for the preparation of research reports, papers, and presentations. Qualifications: Minimum a Master's degree in Food Science (Food Chemistry, Food Microbiology) or a related field. Proven experience with HPLC systems, preferably in the context of food analysis. Strong foundation in food chemistry and microbiology, with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical research. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative research environment and adapt to evolving project needs. Exceptional multitasking skills, allowing for effective management of various project aspects simultaneously. Experience in supervising and mentoring junior researchers or students. Proficiency in academic writing, evidenced by publications, reports, or coursework. Skills and Attributes: Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy in experimental procedures and data analysis. Strong organizational skills to manage lab resources efficiently. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interactions with team members and external collaborators. Dedication to continuous learning and improvement in the field of food science. Ability to work independently while contributing seamlessly to the research team's objectives.
