The job requires a motivated data scientist who has experience in data management, data analytics, data visualization, knowledge management, business intelligence and institutional research. The incumbent will support the decision making process and projects related to knowledge management, strategic planning and quality assurance. The candidate will assume the following Tasks and Responsibilities:  Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.  Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.  Design, develop, and maintain interactive and complex data visualizations and dashboards using complex datasets from different sources.  Implement best practices to ensure dashboard design consistency for best user experience.  Build solution driven views and dashboards in PowerBI, Tableau, or another BI Suite  Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes  Design, build, and test predictive models, machine-learning algorithms, and programs.  Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex data sets, and translate it into actionable conclusions.  Design, write, and test analytics platform code.  Mine and analyze data from institutional databases using database query languages such as SQL, etc.  Design and deliver end-user training and training materials for top management as well as operational teams; provide technical support as necessary.  Implement Web mining techniques and algorithm to extract needed information.  Develop reports using Business Objects platform to support decision making process at UAEU.  Create ad-hoc queries and reports as requested and provides decision support information to the department’s management.  Assist in UAE University response to federal and Emirate based reports and accreditation data requests, comprehensive national surveys and questionnaires, and other non-routine requests for information.  Responsible for the creation of efficient processes that will support routinizing data management tasks and regular data reports/requests.  Responsible to update department website content providing access to institutional research reports and data.  Perform other duties as assigned by the department director.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or related fields with 5+ years’ of data analysis and visualization experience.

Master Degree in Data Science with 3+ years’ of working experience.

At least 3 years of proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst.
