Assistant Professor in Livestock Production and Management

Job Description

The Department of Integrative Agriculture seeks to fill a position in livestock production and management at the level of Assistant Professor with teaching, research, and services responsibilities. Candidates familiar with animal production systems and livestock genotypes of the Gulf Region are welcome. A strong research background in areas relevant to climate-smart and sustainable agriculture is much appreciated. The successful candidates is expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants must have a PhD in animal science, or a closely related areas. Experience in livestock reproduction, and management is preferred. A proven track record of research, extramural research funding, impactful publications, graduate mentoring and undergraduate teaching is essential. Candidates with a substantial background in small and large ruminant production are desired.

Preferred Qualification

Postdoctoral experience is desirable. Previous experience in breeding, and animal genetics would be an advantage.
