The United Arab Emirates University is looking to hire a Research Associate for the Emirates Centre for Mobility Research, led by Professor Dr. Hamad Al Jassmi. The center's mission is to create a safe, efficient, environmentally friendly, and integrated transportation system by fostering interdisciplinary research, leveraging technology, encouraging innovative ideas, connecting various stakeholders, and sharing cutting-edge knowledge. In the role of Research Associate, you will have a crucial role in advancing our knowledge of distracted driving and finding solutions to enhance road safety. You'll collaborate closely with a diverse team of researchers and engineers to gather, analyze, and interpret data related to distracted driving behaviors, employing Machine Learning techniques. Your contributions will directly influence the development of novel technologies and strategies aimed at promoting safer driving practices.

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or Software Engineering, completed before the joining date. • Research experience in Deep Learning and Machine Learning, particularly applied to projects in construction management and road safety. • Experience in programming languages commonly used in Deep Learning and Machine Learning, such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar, would be considered an asset for this position.

Other required qualifications include strong communication and presentation skills; a strong track record in writing and publishing peer-reviewed journal publications; and previous or relevant experience in mentoring or supervising undergraduate student research or junior graduate students and scientists.
