Web Developer
The position involves supporting the ongoing development and management of UAEU websites, portal and the development of custom web applications. The Web Developer will also be responsible for providing technical advice and guidance to others as appropriate. • Develop and maintain templates, layouts and Cascading Style Sheets. • Responsible for different stages of software engineering process starting from requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, training, documentation, and support. • Responsible for web application design and development. • Responsible to provide post go-live support for web applications. • Adhere to web development best practices. • Prepare test plans for web applications for UAT. • Document all web applications including user and technical guides. • Support system administrators and database administrator while moving web applications from test to production through change management process. • Make recommendations for improving web development process as deemed necessary. • Responsible to adhere with all information security policies and procedures of the University. • Other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline. • 0-3 years.
Basic Competencies: • Accountability Competency • The Effective Management of Resources Competency • Focusing on Results Competency • Focus on Customer Service Competency • Communication Skills Competency • Teamwork Competency Technical / Functional Competencies: • Good knowledge on XML, XSL, XSLT. • Good knowledge content management system. • Good experience using development, testing frameworks, and tools. • Good knowledge of Microsoft technology stack, Microsoft Visual Studio.net, InfoPath, SharePoint Designer. • Designing and Implementing custom workflows in SharePoint • Knowledge on relational Database and management tools like Toad. • Any good knowledge on mobile development is a recommended • Hands-on experience in Internet technologies and programming including HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, .NET, and Visual Basic. • Proven working experience in creating database driven websites. • Working knowledge of other server side languages and client side languages like PHP, JSP, XML, SQL and Java. • Proven experience in using industry standard web development tools. • Knowledge of using graphics design software like Photoshop and Flash will be a plus.
