The Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Plant Molecular Biology and Omics Researcher as an Assistant Professor for Research to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of plant genetics and genomics, with a focus on molecular biology and omics technologies in the field of abiotic and biotic stress. The candidate should have a good grasp on taking research from basic to translational science

Minimum Qualification

- Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, or a related field. - Strong background in molecular biology techniques and omics technologies. - Proficiency in bioinformatics tools and software for data analysis. - Experience in plant transformation, gene editing, and functional genomics is highly desirable. - Track record of scientific publications in reputable journals. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. - Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualification

Expected Skills

- Conduct research on plant molecular biology and omics, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics. - Design and execute experiments to investigate plant gene expression, regulation, and function. - Utilize advanced molecular biology techniques, such as DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, and gene expression analysis. - Perform data analysis and interpretation using bioinformatics tools and software. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for crop improvement and sustainable agriculture. - Publish research findings in high-impact scientific journals and present at national and international conferences. - Contribute to grant writing and fundraising efforts to secure external funding for research projects. - Mentor and supervise junior researchers and students.
