Research Assistant
-Manage and supervise the establishment, organize the operational workflow of Biobank platform in ARI project - Carry out administrative and management work associated with Biobank organization and functioning and research, report and publications. -Communicate effectively to supervisor and team members. -Be involved with the day-to-day running of the research activity. Be instrumental in research projects, data collection, data management, grant management and the preparation of initial report, and other outputs, contributing significantly to the research output of the project. - Conduct and execute various research tasks. - Perform necessary data analysis, including the statistical analysis, and be involved in interpretation and communication of main output - Create and improve production workflows and processes where appropriate. - Be responsible for the technical development, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory tasks. - Ensure that safe laboratory practices are followed. Specific Responsibilities and Tasks -Perform related duties in the laboratory to include specimen handling, using manual and automatic equipment to test specimens -Process patient samples for testing using appropriate identification techniques and written procedures to ensure quality material for testing. -Calibrate and maintain instrumentation according to standard operating procedure. -Review written procedures and policies for accuracy and submit changes to manager or designee. -Understand, comply, and perform with all necessary safety procedures. -May provide technical guidance and instruction to students, interns, staff and other employees. - Perform and document quality control checks of data and quality assurance results - Collect, organize, interpret and submit data to database and supervisors. -Maintain timely and accurate laboratory records (electronic and written). -Maintain and monitor inventory of all in-house samples and reagent supplies. B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in a biological sciences.
• Experience in the operation, maintenance, establishing laboratory workflow • Knowledge of advanced principles, practices, and procedures of laboratory testing and analysis. * Knowledge of safe laboratory practices. * Knowledge of laboratory equipment operation and terminology. * Knowledge of computer and word processing/database/spreadsheet software. * Good organization and time management skills. * Good oral and written communication and training skills. * Ability to maintain accurate records regarding events, outcomes, and the associated data. * Ability to perform complex mathematical and statistical computation and analysis * Ability to exercise independent judgement. * Ability to introduce/develop new technologies/laboratory methods. * Ability to troubleshoot complex experimental problems * Evidence of leadership/management quality
Minimum 3-4 years in academic or research institution setting and/or in the relevant scientific field.
