The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking an Instructor in Veterinary Surgery, Anesthesiology and Diagnostic Imaging. The position offers a unique opportunity to join our dynamic team during an exciting phase of growth and development. The Department of Veterinary Medicine is in the process of establishing a veterinary clinical teaching center, and the selected candidate will be responsible for teaching lab sections and supervising students during their rotations in various animal clinics. They will also be required to coordinate clinical activities in collaboration with local and regional veterinary clinicians in the UAE. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate level and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University. English is the language of instruction and communication. Screening of applications will continue until the position is filled. Responsibilities: 1. Collaborating with local veterinary clinicians, manage and supervise veterinary students during their clinical activities and internships. 2. Deliver high-quality practical sessions and clinical training in a wide range of veterinary surgery subjects across different animal species. 3. Provide academic and professional mentorship to veterinary students, guiding them in their internships. Encourage and support student involvement in extracurricular activities related to veterinary medicine. 4. Actively participate in outreach programs, continuing education initiatives, and community service related to veterinary surgery. 5. Undertake administrative responsibilities as assigned by the department, including committee work, student advisement, and other duties related to the academic and research mission of the department. 6. Providing professional clinical veterinary services, the department expects to offer to the farming community and local and regional veterinary clinicians.

Minimum Qualification

1. Master or equivalent degree in Veterinary Surgery. 2. Good academic experience focusing on training in Veterinary Surgery, Anesthesiology and Diagnostic Imaging labs across various animal species. 3. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication. 4. Professional veterinary license (or eligibility for licensure) in the United Arab Emirates.

Preferred Qualification

Ph.D. and/or Board certification from veterinary medical bodies such as the American Colleges of Veterinary Specializations in Veterinary Surgery, Royal Colleges of Veterinary Sciences of the UK, and similar professional bodies in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

Expected Skills

The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years working as a veterinary clinician in an academic setting where mentorship of senior veterinary students and participation in clinical services are key components of the primary responsibilities. The language of instruction is English. While Arabic speaking is desirable, it is not mandatory for this position.
