The Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking to employ a qualified postdoctoral fellow in the area of heterogenous catalysis for a fixed time period of two years. The ideal candidate is to have a strong and well-proven experience in: - Running catalytic gas-phase reactions, - Performing catalysts characterization tests and interpreting the results by XRD, TPR, TEM and XPS instruments; - - Operations of chemical analysis instruments (GCMS, FTIR, and GC-FID) Applicants with publications (as the first author) in leading catalysis journals are particularly welcomed to apply. Topics to be investigated mainly include catalytic upgrading of halogenated pyrolysates in a flow reactor or co-pyrolysis or metal oxides additives with halogenated chemicals. • A PhD degree in Chemical engineering or Chemistry in the field of heterogenous catalysis.

• Experience in running and analyzing results from common catalytic characterization techniques, most importantly TPR and XPS . • Experience in using GCMS, GC-FID, and FTIR. .
