The Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University calls Application for a Postdoctoral Researcher position to work in the field of composite materials. The Postdoctoral fellowship will be supported by a research grant for two years and the selected candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Basim Abu-Jdayil. Roles and Responsibilities: • Develop natural fiber feedstocks and their characterization. • Development of thermoset and thermoplastic composites with the incorporation of natural fibers • Advance knowledge on the modifying and dispersion of lignocellulosic based natural fibers into thermoset and thermoplastic polymers to develop composites. • Testing the developed composites using advanced characterization techniques like FTIR, XRD, SEM, TGA, DSC, rheology, and mechanical testing • Present and report research results at national and international conferences and publish scientific results in peer-reviewed journals

• The successful candidate should have a PhD degree in chemical engineering completed within the last two years preferably from top 300 University Ranking (QS World University Ranking) • Candidates with PhD dissertation defended can submit a letter from their universities graduate office stating that the candidate will be issued a PhD degree before/or soon after joining the position. • Good experience in the production and characterization of composites materials.

• Candidates with having good research publication record will be given preference.
