Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Post-Doctoral Researcher with strong technical expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) using the Python programming language, particularly with proficiency in Pytorch and TensorFlow frameworks. The successful candidate will join our dynamic research team in collaboration with Khalifa University and contribute to cutting-edge projects that advance AI and ML techniques in the context of rare diseases. Additionally, knowledge or experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) would greatly benefit this role. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct innovative research in the field of AI and ML, with a focus on rare diseases or related areas. • Develop novel Large Language Model (LLM) algorithms, models, and techniques within the context of rare diseases. • Implement and experiment with AI/ML models using Python programming language, specifically Pytorch and TensorFlow frameworks. • Collaborate closely with a group of PhD students and research Assistants (RAs), providing technical guidance, mentoring, and supervision as needed. • Contribute to the planning, designing, and executing of research experiments and studies related to rare diseases. • Analyse and interpret experimental results and communicate findings through publications in peer-reviewed journals (Q1, top 15%) and presentations at top conferences. • Assist in writing grant proposals and securing funding for research projects. • Participate in academic and research-related activities such as seminars, workshops, and interdisciplinary collaborations. • Maintain a high standard of research integrity and adhere to ethical guidelines in all aspects of work.

Minimum Qualification

• PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Statistics, or a related field. • Strong background in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning. • Proficiency in programming languages, especially Python, and experience with Pytorch and TensorFlow frameworks. •

Expected Skills

Proven track record of conducting independent research, demonstrated through publications in reputable conferences or journals. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically evaluate and improve existing methodologies. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising or mentoring junior researchers or students. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively while meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Interest or background in rare diseases research is desirable but not mandatory. Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications in natural language processing tasks is a plus.
