Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant on a 6-month contract (renewable) to join the research on medical image processing at the Department of Mathematical Sciences of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). The position is located at the main UAEU campus in Al Ain. The application package must include a cover letter and a detailed CV. According to the objectives of the project, the candidate must have strong knowledge in the field of mathematics, deep learning and parallel programming. The position requires a strong background in the following programming languages and development environments: Python (PyTorch, PyCharm), C++, CUDA, Visual Studio. Usual duties of the position: • Support the Principal Investigator in the implementation of the research project. • Engage in the wider research and scholarly activities of the research group and the Department. • Carry out administrative and management work associated with the research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. • Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, reports, abstracts, etc.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or computer science.

Postgraduate degree or PhD in mathematics or computer science.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is required.

4000-8000 UAE Dirhams per month depending on qualification.
