The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at College of Engineering, United Arab Emirates University Calls Application for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in the field of bio-based materials. The Postdoctoral fellowship will be supported by a research grant for two years and the selected candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Mohammad Jawaid. Roles and Responsibilities: o Extraction of Lignin using natural deep eutectic solvents from biomass o Characterisation of extracted Lignin from biomass o Application of modified lignin for adsorption o Testing extracted and modified lignin using advanced characterization techniques like Thermal, Structural, Morphological, NMR, UV Spectroscopy, Particle size Analysis (PSA), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) Analysis. o Present and report research results at national and international conferences and publish scientific results in peer-reviewed Q1 journals

o The successful candidate should have at least a degree in PhD Materials Science completed within the last two years preferably from top 200 University Ranking (QS World University Ranking) o Candidates with experience in the production of lignocellulosic biomass into lignin and its modifications will be preferred o Experience in preparation of Natural Deep Eutectic Solvent(NADES) and use NADES for lignin extraction from Biomass

o Candidates with having good research publication record will be given preference.
