Research Assistant
The College of Medicine and Health Sciences at UAE University (CMHS UAEU) is currently seeking a highly motivated and licensed MRI Research Technician to join our research team under the ASPIRE grant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting cutting-edge research using functional MRI (fMRI) and multimodal neuroimaging approaches, including EEG. Key Responsibilities: Operate a 3T MRI scanner to conduct fMRI studies, focusing on human participants in a research environment. Support multimodal imaging studies integrating MRI with basic EEG recordings. Ensure the safety and well-being of all research participants according to local regulations and institutional guidelines. Collaborate with research teams to optimize imaging protocols and contribute to data analysis. Maintain MRI equipment and manage routine quality assurance procedures. Strong background in functional MRI techniques and familiarity with multimodal neuroimaging, particularly combining fMRI with EEG. A valid UAE MRI Technician license or eligibility to obtain one, in compliance with the UAE’s health authorities (MOHAP, DOH, DHA) licensing regulations. Proficiency in image processing and analysis tools is an advantage. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative research environment. Licensing Requirement: Candidates must hold a valid MRI Technician license issued by a recognized health authority in the UAE, such as the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DOH), the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), or the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP). Eligibility for licensing will be assessed according to the Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR) established by these authorities.
