AIT Engineer
Support Spacecraft Lead on all AIT aspects of S-813 Program, from selection of the S-813 Spacecraft Supplier through the design, development, integration and test phases up to the shipment of the Spacecraft to the launch site. This job description includes but is not limited to the following key Responsibilities: ▪ Support Spacecraft Lead on all AIT aspects of S-813 Program, from selection of the S-813 Spacecraft Supplier through the design, development, integration and test phases up to the shipment of the Spacecraft to the launch site with specific attention to the adequacy of the Supplier AIT plan with the NSSTC AIT facilities and and to timely availability of these facilities and supporting NSSTC AIT operators ▪ Provide technical support to S-813 Spacecraft Lead in all Spacecraft AIT aspects of the program ▪ Contribute to the management of the technical relationship with S-813 Spacecraft Supplier on a daily basis (interactions with Spacecraft Supplier AIT Lead) ▪ Ensure technical implementation and coordination of NSSTC AIT means as a support to S-813 Spacecraft Supplier, and the coordination of AIT activities (run by the Supplier with NSSTC support on operation of some GSEs) ▪ Specific responsibilities during S-813 program development (from Supplier selection to in-orbit commissioning): - Review all Supplier deliverable documentation related to S-813 Spacecraft AIT - Contribute to the preparation and washing-up of Review Items Discrepancies and Action Items related to Spacecraft AIT, and to the follow-up of related minutes of meetings. - Prepare and attend any dedicated meetings in relation with Spacecraft AIT - Verify that the Supplier Spacecraft AIT plan is compatible with the Customer AIT facilities definition and capabilities and validate the S-813 Supplier’s AIT plan - Follow-up of S-813 spacecraft AIT phase and test reports - Plan with the spacecraft supplier the short and medium term activities with objective: o To organize and plan AIT team in accordance with the supplier schedule. o To check status of activity preparation (procedures, test aids, facilities). o To book facilities - Support the preparation of the NSSTC AIT team training program with the spacecraft supplier. - Provide as-need support to NSSTC Spacecraft Lead for Acceptance of AIT plan, tests reports, pending actions, and tracking items status - Ensure internal coordination of activities and plans with NSSTC AIT Team.
Bachelor or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant
Technical skills on spacecraft integration and tests Ability to interact with internal and external resources Ability to issue technical recommendations to support Spacecraft Lead and System Lead decisions Ability to interact with NSSTC AIT Team
Desired but not required • Demonstrated experience with CAD tools • Familiarity with designing and packaging electro-mechanical systems for the space environment • Cleanroom experience
