ADCS Engineer
As a GNC/ADCS Engineer, you will perform all spacecraft GNC/AOCS configuration, design, analyses, test, and flight operations while supporting the Spacecraft Development Program Managers and Chief Systems Engineer. Additionally, this engineer will provide general engineering support to the team in modeling, analysis, document generation, environmental testing, and other roles. Providing support during mission operations, including initial in-orbit functional validation and functional performance. Analyzing problems and faults remotely when the Spacecraft is in orbit. Supporting the Mission operations team in the generation solution approaches and related commands to be implemented and transmitted to the spacecraft when necessary. English is the working language. Travel may be required – both domestic and international. The position is located at the NSSTC facility in Al Ain. Support design and development of the AOCS Software for Earth observation satellite Support development of GNC software architecture, implementing algorithms into GNC flight software, towards an overall GNC software solution. Derive and maintain AOCS / GNC sub-system requirements, define and maintain AOCS/GNC sub-system design. Contribute to system level activities, such as developing mission CONOPS (Concept of Operations) and FDIR (Fault/Failure Detection, Isolation, and Recovery) processes and design, system test and verification activities. Support development of GNC hardware architecture, trade-off analysis of hardware towards an overall GNC hardware solution. Interfacing with a multi-disciplinary team including professionals, faculty, graduate and undergraduate students Documenting interfaces and requirements Provide inputs and assessments as a subject matter expert to corporate leadership Brief design and analysis materials to program managers, customers, and/or sponsors. Take part in the GNC/AOCS related verification testing on spacecraft systems and components including test design, test conduct, data reduction, analysis, and reporting. Provide support, guidance, and management of all GNC/AOCS designs, developments, and test activities to junior engineering support.
