Academic Advisor
The College of Information Technology is seeking a dedicated Academic Advisor to support students throughout their academic journey. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in helping students advance academically and reach graduation. This position will serve as a liaison between the faculty, the Department of Admissions and Registration, and the student advising unit, ensuring that students receive timely and accurate information regarding their inquiries. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Assisting students with admission and registration-related issues. - Counseling and advising students on available courses offered by the faculty. - Collecting and submitting student results to the Admissions and Registration Department, while also preparing detailed statistics on student performance and status. - Addressing and resolving student queries and concerns, providing accurate information as needed. - Evaluate the academic records of transfer students, students on academic warning, re-enrollments, changes in major, and new program requirements in accordance academic standards. - Preparing academic schedules and entering academic plans into the student information system. - Recording course syllabi in accordance with the credit hour system. - Developing and implementing orientation and induction programs for new students. - Conducting initial meetings with students accused of misconduct. - Communicating and advising students on matters related to academic performance and attendance. - Communicate with colleges and other departments within the university to provide students with all necessary information regarding their academic studies. - Processing student transfer requests in accordance with university regulations. - Resolve student issues related to conflicts in final exams, collaborating with colleges and faculty members to address these challenges effectively - Assisting students in preparing their academic plans and ensuring compliance through follow-up. - Provide the college with all information that facilitates decision-making and enhances the educational process. - Performing additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree Communication Skills: Excellent Arabic and English verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with students and academic members
