IT Specialist

Job Description

- The IT Specialist will provide essential support to the ground segment team by managing server hardware, assisting with software development, and coordinating with external support providers. This role ensures that the IT infrastructure is well-maintained and supports smooth operations within the ground segment. Tasks and Responsibilities: - Server Hardware Maintenance:  Set up, configure, and maintain server hardware, ensuring all systems are operational and aligned with ground segment needs.  Perform routine inspections and basic troubleshooting of server hardware to ensure consistent uptime. - Software Development Support:  Assist in software installation, configuration, and updates for ground station operations, working alongside the ground segment software engineering team.  Contribute to minor software development tasks as directed, supporting the automation of ground station workflows and system integration. - Documentation and Reporting:  Keep detailed records of IT systems, support procedures, and troubleshooting steps.  Generate simple reports on system performance, hardware status, and support activities. - On-the-Job Learning and Skill Development:  Engage actively in learning opportunities provided within the team, aiming to develop a deeper understanding of IT infrastructure and ground segment operations.  Participate in any provided training to enhance troubleshooting and software development skills.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualification

 Act as the primary liaison for coordinating with external IT and software support teams, managing communication and tracking issue resolution.  Document support interactions and maintain an organized log of external support activities.
