The department of Physics in UAE University is seeking a highly-qualified, self-motivated postdoc to work on a project focused on optimizing electroless etching processes for synthesizing InGaN and GaN nanowires for photonic devices. The role involves synthesizing nanowires, characterizing material properties, fabricating UV photodetectors, and enhancing their performance with nanoparticles. The candidate should demonstrate independence in synthesizing and characterizing materials using SEM, AFM, XRD, PL, Raman, and I-V techniques. The position will start as soon as possible.

• PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or another related field. • Experience with nanowire synthesis, semiconductor materials, and characterization techniques. • Proficiency in data analysis and nanofabrication. • Communicate research progress within the group and report results externally through conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications. • Excellent communication skills in English. • Strong motivation to work both independently and as part of a team in an interdisciplinary environment, with the ability to pay close attention to detail and to meet deadlines.
