Research Assistant
The research project aims to comprehensively investigate the prevalence, genetic and mechanistic aspects of antimicrobial resistance of different important pathogens from a One Health concept. The goal is to develop innovative strategies for combating the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, emphasizing a multidisciplinary approach that integrates insights from human health, animal health, and the environment.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Veterinary Medicine, Human Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field. Experience in microbiological techniques, including bacterial isolation and identification. Basic knowledge of antimicrobial resistance and molecular biology techniques. Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and good laboratory practices. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a research team.
Familiarity with bioinformatics tools for analyzing genomic and antimicrobial resistance data. Previous experience working with foodborne pathogens and zoonotic bacteria. Knowledge of One Health and food safety concepts related to antimicrobial resistance.
