The Geosciences department at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship to work in the field of Geophysics. Candidates must have an excellent experience in magnetotelluric (MT) and numerical inversion. The objectives of the project are as follows: (1) To acquire MT data in the UAE, (2) To process the observed MT and apply different filtering methods and apply dimensionality analyses, (3) To model and invert the MT data and create 2D/3D electrical resistivity models, (4) To interpret the results using other geophysical and geological data, and (5) To write research papers and publish them in top journals. The completion of a PhD degree in geosciences/engineering/geophysics/earth sciences is required. The appointment will be initially made for one year with possibility of extension for another year depending upon satisfactory performance and publications record. The nominal start date is as soon as possible. The position is located at the UAEU’s main campus in Al-Ain, about one hour drive from Dubai city. The UAEU is the largest and the top ranked Public Sector University of the United Arab Emirates.
