Carpentry Technician

Job Description

Under general supervision, perform work in the installation, maintenance, manufacturing, modification, and repair of furniture and related carpentry works. Work assignments to be initiated by either oral instructions by the immediate In charge or FMD Maintenance management and online maintenance requests. Have to act as lead worker to other classified staff in the area; and perform related work as required. Installation, maintenance, manufacturing, modification, and repairing of curtains, furniture, Doors, windows, and allied locking systems, sliding systems, replacement of glasses, hinges, installation, and replacement of false ceiling systems, door closer systems, basic knowledge of aluminum door and windows repairing works etc. Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the carpentry trade; applicable state and federal health and safety code requirements; methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment; safety precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation. Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. The following duties are listed both as trade-specific and shared responsibilities.  Installation, maintenance, manufacturing, modification, troubleshooting, and repairing of Carpentry/aluminum trade-related works.  Repairing and manufacturing of miscellaneous items of wooden structures such as  wood benches, tables, cabinets, signs, chairs, floors (carpet, parquet, vinyl, etc.), roofs, wall sidings, doors, installation of partitions, walls, and doors, etc.;  To repair and installation of locks, door checks, windows  To build forms (frames) for pouring concrete;  Inspects wooden structures for the safety of operation.  Carry out all allocated preventive and corrective maintenance.  Measuring, marking, and arranging materials according to the drawing and direction of the immediate In charge.  Can estimate the works with all requirements like material, manpower, and duration to complete the works.  Cuts and shapes materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall with hand and power tools (i.e. chisels, planes, electric drills, Lipping machine, plywood cutting machine, wood cutting machine, plainer machine, pressing machine, Air Compressor, band saw machine, etc.).  Coordinates with coworkers and immediate In charge of the organizing and completion of carpentry/aluminum works.  Coordinates with superiors to complete work efficiently.  Respond to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns and complaints.  Maintain appropriate service and repair records.  Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.  Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure the protection of assets, like furniture, computers, other electronic equipment, flooring, etc. if required.  A knowledge to request the required carpentry/aluminum material and associated tools and accessories to execute the job.  Basic knowledge to erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging to get access to difficult areas; moves furniture and equipment as necessary.  Barricade/isolate the areas during the work execution as per the site requirement.  Need to make neat, tidy the area after completion of the job, and remove unwanted/remaining items from the work-executed place as per the instruction of the immediate In-charge and store them in the designated area as directed by immediate superior.  Clean up all equipment, including tools and works area.

Minimum Qualification

Academic Qualification: High School Technical Qualification: Trade certification in Carpenter works.

Preferred Qualification

Experience: 5 years and above experience in a similar field and Gulf Experience at least a minimum of 3 years.
