Postdoctoral Fellow in Advanced 2D Nanomaterials for EMI Shielding in Space Applications
The hired Postdoctoral Fellow will be a key member of a collaborative research project between the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and the University of Belgrade. The primary responsibility will be to conduct cutting-edge research in the development of novel, lightweight, and high-performance electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials based on graphene and Transition Metal Dichalcogenide (TMD) composites for space applications. The role involves hands-on experimental work, including the synthesis, fabrication, and characterization of these advanced materials, as well as evaluating their shielding performance. The fellow will be expected to work independently and collaboratively, analyze data, contribute to publications, and assist in training graduate students.
• PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Nanotechnology, or related field. • Strong background in 2D materials (e.g., graphene, MoS₂, WS₂). • Experience in material synthesis (CVD, ALD, mechanical exfoliation), nanocomposite fabrication, and advanced characterization techniques. • Demonstrated publication record in high-impact journals. • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills. • Project Management: Ability to work independently, manage research tasks effectively, and meet project milestones.
• Computational Skills: Familiarity with computational modeling tools such as Density Functional Theory (DFT) or finite element analysis (FEA) software (e.g., COMSOL, HFSS) would be an advantage. • Previous experience in EMI shielding research or high-frequency electromagnetic testing is a plus.
