Post-Doctoral Researcher

Job Description

A Post-Doctoral Fellow position is available in the Department of Mechanical Engineering for a cutting-edge research project titled “Plasmonic-Assisted Carrier Injection: A Pathway to Higher Efficiency in Ferroelectric Hot Carrier Solar Cells.” The work focuses on plasmonic nanostructures, ferroelectric materials, and hot-carrier dynamics to enhance photovoltaic efficiency beyond conventional limits. Applicants must hold a PhD in Materials Science, Renewable Energy, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with experience in plasmonics, nanofabrication, ferroelectrics, or solar-cell characterization considered a strong advantage. The appointment is initially for one year starting January 2024 and extendable. Applications are accepted online only, and shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Skype-based interview.

Minimum Qualification

PhD in Materials Science, Renewable Energy, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Preferred Qualification

Demonstrated research experience in plasmonic nanostructures, ferroelectric materials, hot-carrier dynamics, or advanced photovoltaic devices, with hands-on expertise in nanofabrication, thin-film deposition, and optical/electrical characterization techniques. Experience in plasmonics, ferroelectric or photovoltaic materials, hands-on skills in nanofabrication and device characterization, and a strong research and publication background.
