Research Assistant (Space Systems)
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support a university CubeSat mission over a one-year period. This role spans system design, requirements and interfaces, integration, verification, and Assembly–Integration–Test (AIT). The Systems Engineer will work closely with faculty, engineers, and student teams, providing technical guidance while ensuring the spacecraft is developed, tested, and documented to a professional standard.
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). • Experience with complex hardware development (spacecraft, avionics, embedded systems, or similar). • Working knowledge of requirements, interface control, verification, and test planning/execution. • Strong technical writing, organization, and communication skills.
• CubeSat/Small Satellite project experience (university or industry). • Familiarity with spacecraft subsystems (EPS, ADCS, COMMS, OBC/CDH, payloads). • Experience mentoring students, leading small technical teams, or supporting educational labs. • Exposure to structured engineering processes (review gates, verification matrices, configuration management).
