Medical Research Specialist I
The Medical Research Specialist will play a key role in conducting and supporting histopathology-based, protein-based and molecular- based research studies. The successful candidate will perform advanced tissue processing and staining techniques, Western blot, Elisa, Real-Time PCR, assist with experimental design and data analysis, maintain regulatory compliance, and collaborate with faculty, trainees, and interdisciplinary research teams. Key Responsibilities • Process human and/or animal tissue specimens for research purposes, including fixation, embedding, microtomy, and cryosectioning. • Perform routine and specialized staining techniques (H&E, special stains). • Conduct immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence, and in situ hybridization. • Assist in developing and optimizing histological and molecular protocols. • Perform digital slide scanning and support image analysis using pathology software. • Maintain accurate laboratory records, research databases, and specimen tracking systems. • Expert in western blot, Elisa, and Real-Time PCR • Participate in experimental planning, troubleshooting, and data interpretation. • Support preparation of research manuscripts, abstracts, grant applications, and presentations. • Train and supervise students or junior laboratory personnel when required. • Maintain laboratory equipment and manage inventory of reagents and supplies. • Contribute to quality control and quality assurance procedures.
• Masters or PhD degree in Histotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a histopathology or biomedical research laboratory. • Demonstrated experience with tissue processing, microtomy, staining, immunohistochemistry, Western blot, Elisa, and Real Time PCR • Experience working in an academic or research-intensive environment preferred. Technical Skills: • Strong understanding of tissue morphology and histopathological principles. • Familiarity with digital pathology and image analysis platforms. • Expert in western blot, Elisa, and Real-Time PCR • Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and regulatory compliance in academic research. • Proficiency in data management and basic statistical analysis tools is an advantage.
