Assistant Professor in Invertebrate Biology

Job Description

The Department of Biology at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor in Biology Invertebrates, starting Fall 2026 (or as soon as possible). The successful candidate is expected to establish an independent, externally funded research program in invertebrate biology with good experience in molecular aspects and contribute effectively to the Department's teaching, research and service missions. Research areas of interest may include, but are not limited to: -Invertebrate zoology -marine or fresh water invertebrates -Invertebrate physiology or ecology -Biodiversity, systematics, or evolution of invertebrates -Applied invertebrate biology relevant to arid or regional ecosystems The candidate will teach undergraduates and graduate courses in invertebrate biology and related areas, supervise graduate students and contribute to curriculum development. Required Qualifications: -PhD in Biology, Zoology or closely related field (from accredited institution) -Strong potential for high quality research and publication -Demonstrated or potential excellence in teaching biology courses -Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary academic environment Applicants should submit: -CV, cover letter describing research interests and teaching philosophy -Statement of research plan
