Research Assistant

Job Description

The Department of Nutrition and Health is seeking a motivated and qualified Research Assistant for a 12-month appointment under the supervision of Dr. Hafiz Shahbaz. The position is intended to support research activities in the area of nutrition and metabolic health and to contribute to ongoing scholarly work within the research program. The successful candidate will primarily engage in research-related activities, including development of research ideas, literature synthesis, research planning, and contribution to scientific outputs. The appointee may also assist with selected components of closely related research projects within the Principal Investigator’s research program, where relevant. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct literature reviews relevant to the research project • Assist in the implementation of experimental and/or analytical work related to the project • Support data collection, organization, and quality control • Contribute to data analysis and interpretation under supervision • Assist in manuscript preparation for submission to peer-reviewed journals • Maintain accurate research documentation and ensure compliance with university research and safety policies

Minimum Qualification

Master’s degree (MSc) in Nutrition, Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, or a related field
