A Research Assistant position is available in the Department of Internal Medicine, College of Medicine & Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University with Dr Adnan Agha. The successful candidate will be engaged in a clinical research project focusing on investigating the presence and features Monogenic Diabetes. The position is for an enthusiastic young clinician/scientist with interest in clinical research who can work with patients with minimal supervision. The successful candidate should be a Clinical/medical graduate/doctor with clinical experience (having completed internship). The candidate should have good knowledge and experience in clinical research especially diabetes and genetics of monogenic diabetes and be well versed in lab technique and PCR. Primary responsibilities include the design and performance of clinical research as well as taking blood samples and performing PCR sequencing and lab based tests. Additional duties include preparing and maintaining detailed records, logs and summary reports of all research findings using appropriate software, and performing other job-related duties, as required. The working hours are during the week including evening shifts.

The applicant must be a doctor/medical practitioner

Master/MSc in Medical Research/clinical genetics and related fields

must have Good clinical Practice certificate. candidates with additional educational qualification like Masters in clinical specialty/research and genetic experience will be preferred and having a HAAD license as healthcare professional is desirable. Previous experience of working in a clinical project is required and previous publication in a peer reviewed journal is desired.
