The Research Assistant will support the implementation of the funded UAEU start-up research project Cultural Intelligence: How AI Is Shaping the Future of Media and Cultural Production in the UAE. The role includes assisting with literature reviews; the collection and organization of policy, institutional, and media-related documents; interview preparation and scheduling; transcription and translation support; document and content analysis; qualitative coding; case study documentation; data organization; and general research coordination. The Research Assistant will also assist in preparing academic outputs, conference materials, and policy-oriented dissemination under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. The position supports a qualitative, bilingual research project focused on AI, media, and cultural production in the UAE.

Master’s degree in Media Studies, Communication, Digital Humanities, Cultural Studies, Sociology, or a related field.

Experience in qualitative research, literature review, transcription, academic writing, and bilingual research work in English and Arabic is preferred.

- Strong research and organizational skills. - Ability to conduct literature searches and manage references. - Experience with transcription, qualitative research, and content analysis. - Strong written and spoken English and Arabic. - Familiarity with NVivo, Zotero, Excel, and digital research tools is an advantage. - Knowledge of the UAE cultural, media, and policy landscape is preferred. - Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.

Interest in AI, media, culture, and digital transformation research is required. Experience in qualitative research is desirable.
