Research Assistant
We invite applications for a Research Assistant position at the Department of Computer & Network Engineering (CIT), United Arab Emirates University. This position is part of a funded research project focused on advancing next-generation intelligent autonomous systems. The project aims to leverage AI agents and large-scale models to enable advanced reasoning, planning, and decision-making in complex and safety-critical environments. Key application domains include autonomous driving systems, UAV (drone) technologies, and 6G-enabled intelligent networks. The selected candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research in AI-driven reasoning, adaptive agent design, benchmarking frameworks, and robust AI systems.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field • Strong background in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Generative AI • Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and fine-tuning techniques • Experience in dataset creation, model training, and evaluation
• Experience with distributed training and GPU-based computing • Familiarity with Hugging Face ecosystem and large-scale model deployment • Knowledge of autonomous systems, robotics, or intelligent transportation systems • Experience with simulation environments such as CARLA, AirSim, or similar • Background in AI security, adversarial robustness, or trustworthy AI • Prior research experience or publications in relevant AI fields
• Research Assistant level position • Strong programming and problem-solving skills • Hands-on experience with machine learning pipelines and experimentation • Ability to work with large-scale datasets and distributed systems • Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail • Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary research teams • Good written and verbal communication skills
